I’m one of the founders of the mom dance party- so agree with you that it’s critical to find moments outside the role of mom while being surrounded by other women on this journey like you had in this walk home with your friend. That was the intention behind the concept. I am a therapist for moms and heard/experienced personally the critical need for moms to be together in a joyful way outside of the role of mothering- this is what we’ve tried to create! Sorry you didn’t have that experience but also understand it’s not for everyone! So glad you found that sweet connection with your friend that night- that’s what matters most.
